This archive is updated on a weekly basis and holds a large number of articles, journals, reports and other published content from those working across the biomedical and life sciences subject areas. Up to half a million new records are added to the archive each year, with the current total number of archive records totalling around 18 million from publications dating back to 1926.

Traditional areas of biology - such as botany, microbiology and zoology are represented alongside other related specialisms, including agriculture, pharmacology, biophysics, ecology, bioengineering and experimental clinical medicine.
