EThOS (British Library Electronic Theses Online Service)

This digital archive hub facilitates access to theses produced in the UK, with instant availability of theses already digitised, alongside a thesis digitisation request service. Since the site’s inception in 2009, demand for access to UK theses has been high, with over 100,000 theses requests made so far and more than 100 institutions participating in the scheme.

Users can download theses direct to their desktop from the site and there are over 250,000 theses currently stored, with more being added continuously. A toolkit is available to users, alongside a full search facility and regular news updates on services in development.

How can this collection be used in teaching, studying and research?

This collection will be useful to most academics and students as it covers such a broad range of subjects. This collection is currently in beta stage and visitors need to register individually to use the service.
